Boots Of The Match: Ronaldo Switches Back Into Mercurial IX 2010 Edition

Seems like the on field screening of the SE CR7 is over, as Ronaldo switched back into the Mercurial IX 2010 edition on Tuesday night against Bayern Munich. Fortunately for Madrid fans, he didn't skip a beat, netting twice while raising his Champions League goal tally to 16 this year, the most ever. And the 4-0 win for Los Blancos didn't go without some pretty funny memes about Munich, so we put a list of the best ones below :)

As for the rest of the boot world, John Terry opted to wear the Nike Tiempo Legend IV, Mascherano followed suit in wearing an old color scheme of the Nike CTR360 Maestri III, Chicarito received the Nike Mercurial Vapor IX SE MVXV (hopefully he wears them on the pitch), and much more.

Podolski Trains In New Adidas F50 Prototype

The current adizero f50 model and fifth in the long-standing series, launched in November 2013. Since then it's been a crazy period for the silo with signature colourways and special editions. So what can we expect from adidas and the next f50? The tongue and sprintframe outsole will likely remain the same with key adjusments coming to the upper. A close-up look at Podolski's f50s reveals a one-layer sythetic upper with a unique pinstripe desgin.

Chances are we've seen the last of adidas' SPEEDFOIL technology that featured (albeit intermediately) as one of the key tech stories on the existing model. Instead adidas will turn to a one-piece synthetic upper that upon inspection has similarities to the material used on the f50 'Carnival' editions.

For the World Cup adidas will lead with the current adizero f50 model that will make up part of the brand's anticipated tournament pack - we'll give you the first official look at that in a couple of weeks. But as we head into the 2014/15 season the three stripes will refresh both their f50 and Predator silos - two updates that boot fans have high expectations for.

Let us know what you think of the new boots in the comment section below

Boots Of The Match: Ronaldo Wears Special Edition CR7

After many delays to the boot's debut, Ronaldo finally was able to wear the much anticipated CR7 boots versus Bayern Munich in the Champions League. Leading his side to a 1-0 win, we'll see if Ronaldo chooses to continue to wear them, as Real Madrid still must finish the job next week in Germany. The all white upper with a gold bottom was a unique look to not only Cristinano Ronaldo but to the design of boots in general, which explains all the hype around the boot's debut on the field.

As for the rest of the boot world, Casillas laced up in the adidas Predator LZ earth pack, David Luiz opted to wear a bright crimson Nike CTR360 vs Atletico, Mascherano trained in a throwback colorway of the Nike CTR360 Maestri III, Cazorla again wears a PUMA evoSPEED whiteout prototype, and much more.
